Public international law
BMAJ has considerable experience in public international law. Its lawyers have advised states and international organizations in disputes related to the delimitation of boundaries, international waters, immunity from jurisdiction and execution of states, war damages and use of force. BMAJ also advised the Republic of Chile in its negotiations regarding the investment chapters in several of Chile’s Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). This includes FTAs with the United States and the European Union.
Andrés Jana has participated in the defense of the Chilean Republic at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning the maritime boundary delimitation dispute with the Republic of Peru.
